Protect the ones you love with a new roof
White spores:
Curling shingles:

Your roof could be experiencing curling or cupping of the shingle which is a major warning sign that its time for a new roof.

  • Poor attic ventilation – Having proper ventilation is just as important has the shingles on your roof. Hot air filled with moisture will rise into the attic. Without proper ventilation the moisture filled air will be trapped and cause mold to start forming. Your shingles will warn you that improper ventilation is occurring by curling.
  • Multiple layered roofs –By law you can have two layers of asphalt shingles on your roof. Some homeowners choose this option to save on the cost of replacing a full roof (which is roughly about 25% savings). The problem is it only acts as a band-aid to your roofs real problems. Layovers won't hold up over time. They tend to curl up prematurely and cause major issues. To prevent further damage to your home its best to get a full roof replacement so our professionals can see the decking. Once the decking is exposed we can properly install drip edge, ice and water and synthetic underlayment to fully seal in your roof to be watertight.
  • Old age –Just like us a roof will show its age. Instead of winkles its curling or cupping. If you know your shingles are getting up there in age (20 years or more) and are curling it might be time to get a new roof. Curling and missing shingles will lead to possible leaks. Once the roof starts leaking your real problems will begin with water damage to the inside of your home.
ROOF FLASHING

Can you roof withstand every storm? If you're not sure, or you have an aging roof that's been well weathered, have one of our inspectors come out and take a look. It's very possible you're subject to further damage without proper flashing installed.

  • Missing one or two taps off a shingle isn't the end of the world but does spell trouble down the road.
  • Finding shingles missing or on the ground indicate your roof is aging or was improperly installed.
  • Once the underside of the shingle is exposed  to the elements, wind can tear off the shingle easily.
  • Attics are more susceptible to moisture problems in the winter when heat generated inside the home drives moisture from the living area to the attic.
  • White spores are the body of the mold. The white spores are the beginning stage before it produces spores. If left untreated white mold will produce black & blue spores. Untreated mold in the attic can become harmful.
  • To stop white spores from growing/spreading use an attic fan with a humidistat to pull the moisture from the attic in the winter.
